Malnutrition

Malnutrition
Most of the deaths in least developed countries (LDC's) are due to lack of nutrition and adequate health-care. About 20 to 30 percent of the people of the third world countries suffer from malnutrition. Almost 80 percent children in there do not get enough calories from their daily food, and many of them lose their eye-sight every year for want of Vitamin A. This problem only can be avoided if people are conscious about their food habit and try to learn about the three types of nutritious food.
Many people do not know which substances are essential to our body and in what amount and proportion they are required. This ignorance results in various deficiency diseases and children’s deaths. For instance, Protein-Energy Malnutrition (PEM) causes the dangerous diseases such as ‘Kwashiorkor’ and ‘Marasmus’ among infants in the third world countries.
